FAQ

General

What do I wear/bring to a yoga class?
I’ve never taken yoga, is that okay?
Do I need to book in advance?
What if I can’t make my class?

Please wear loose comfortable clothing.  Yoga is practiced barefoot so no special foot wear is required. You may bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated.  You might also bring a small cushion to help with technique and support.

Our classes are appropriate for people of any fitness level and age. We include adaptations for most poses so that you can choose what’s right for you on the day.

The number of attendees is limited due to COVID constraints so it’s important that you book a spot to avoid disappointment.

We understand that life sometimes gets in the way and you may not be able to make it to class. If you know ahead of time we ask that you let us know so we can offer your spot to someone else (24+ hours notice if possible). We reserve the right to charge a no-show/late cancellation fee of $10 if you cancel less than 2 hours prior to class.

GROUP CLASSES

Do I need a mat or a chair?
How early should I arrive?

You do not need a mat and we provide the chairs and all other props.  If you prefer, you can bring your own blocks, strap and/or blanket/cushion.

We politely request you arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time for your first class as you will need to complete a new student form and sign in for COVID tracking (with the centre).

ONLINE CLASSES

What do I need for an online class?
What software do I need? How do I join class?
  • Select a sturdy chair that doesn’t slide on your floor.  You can place it on top of a yoga mat if you have one to help prevent slipping but it’s not necessary.  Place the chair in a location that has as few background distractions as possible and enough room so that you can do some standing asanas around the chair.

  • Wear comfortable clothes
  • Please bring the following to class if available.  We won’t use them every week, but it’s good to have them handy.
    • Strap, long belt or bath towel
    • Towel, small blanket or small pillow (to be placed on the back of the seat of your chair to raise your hips slightly to help straighten your back;  this could be used in every class if it helps you to sit up straight!!)
    • 1-2 yoga blocks, tissue boxes or thick books

  • Please ensure you can see your computer or mobile device clearly and your sound is turned on so you can hear the instructor.   Also, centre yourself in the video frame so the instructor can see your body alignment and provide enhancements as possible.

Simply click on the email link to join the ‘meeting’ anytime before the scheduled start time. (NB. The first time you use Zoom it will automatically launch the Zoom App to your computer or mobile device. The App is free and quick & simple to install.  To ensure class can begin on time, please do it well ahead of class.  You can always close out of zoom and then hit the link again to sign in to class closer to the start of class.)
